Multiplication of numbers can be done with the help of tables
For example let us multiply 213 X 3 = ?
The multiplication can be done as follows
Step 1:
Multiply the digit at ones place
3 ones X 3 = 9 0nes
Write 9 in the ones column
Step 2:
Multiply the digit at tens place
1 tens X 3 = 3 tens
Write 3 in the tens column
Step 3:
Multiply the digit at hundreds place
2 hundreds X 3 = 6 hundreds
Write 6 in the hundreds column
